Understand GeneratePress starter sites, importing considerations, and when the Site Library can speed up a build.
The Site Library provides professionally designed starter sites intended to shorten setup time. A starter site is most useful when its structure is already close to your project; otherwise the cleanup and redesign can outweigh the initial speed advantage.
Before importing
- Use a clean install or staging site.
- Review which plugins and content the starter site expects.
- Replace demo copy, imagery and brand styling.
- Remove unused templates, patterns and plugins after the design direction is stable.
Keep the workflow maintainable
Use the smallest set of tools that reliably solves the problem. Define global typography, colors and spacing early; use reusable patterns for repeated structures; and document site-specific display rules or custom code.
Check the result, not just the setting
Review representative pages on mobile and desktop. A configuration is only useful when the navigation, content hierarchy, forms and important conversion paths remain easy to use.
